I can’t believe it is summer!! I miss y’all so much and can’t wait to see you. Here’s a friendly reminder of the best thing you can do to help your kiddo be ready for school next year and beat summertime boredom…you guessed it…READ!
Read outside, read together, read to little siblings, listen to audio books, read to pets, read on FaceTime to grandparents, talk about your reading, read by the pool, just READ! Run out of ideas? Check this out!
Research shows that when we flood children with books and allow them to choose what they want to read, they will become more internally motivated to continue to read. This of course helps them in ALL subjects and sets them up for success for the future! ️
So, let your kiddo choose what they want to read–ESPECIALLY over the summer. Comic books, non-fiction, fantasy, how-to drawing books, graphic novels, realistic fiction, audiobooks, and any other way you can think of–it all helps!
