Spots in Pre-K through Grade 5 will be available at Becker Elementary in its acclaimed Dual Language program!

About Becker Elementary

Students from throughout Austin Independent School District and outside of the district are welcome to become part of Becker’s Dual Language program. Becker’s outstanding program and vibrant community have drawn numerous transfer families from throughout Austin, as well as families from within the neighborhood. Becker is located in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood, just south of the Lady Bird Lake, at 906 W. Milton St.

Becker is a Two-Way Dual Language school. In the Two-Way Dual Language program, students who speak Spanish at home and students who speak English at home collaborate and learn in both languages, together. Through Two-Way Dual Language, students  learn to read, write, and think in two languages. English-speaking children in Dual Language classrooms outperform English-speaking students not in Dual Language programs on all academic tests, including tests of reading and writing in English.

The Dual Language program is free for children who live throughout the District. Transportation is not provided. For children who do not qualify for tuition-free Pre-K, there are tuition spots available in Pre-K.
